This captivating essential oil is made from the Hirado Buntan (Citrus maxima) , a stunning Pomelo variety that rivals in size the renowned Bampeiyu. Its origins can be traced back to the city of Hirado in Nagasaki Prefecture.

 

Harvested from late November, the Hirado Buntan Pomelo impresses with its substantial size, weighing an astonishing 1.3kg. Its enchanting aroma, reminiscent of sweet ester, slightly acidic citrus notes that are raw and bitter, is truly one-of-a-kind. Uniquely, it carries an earthy radish aspect that adds an intriguing dimension to its aroma.

The Hirado Buntan Pomelo stands out with its large size, often weighing over 1 kilogram per fruit. It features a thick and rough yellowish-green rind, which encases a sweet and juicy flesh. The segments of the pomelo are easily separable and range in color from pale yellow to vibrant pink.
